We are Going on Hiatus with "Akagami no Shirayukihime"

Update:  For now it appears that Mangafox is cooperating with our takedown request.  We'll see how long that lasts....
----------------------------------
I'm sorry, but the frustration level is too high right now for AnS.  Since the series moved to Lala magazine, the chapter image quality has ranged from crap to beautiful.  Chapter 35 is the worst looking chapter EVER and I can't do anything "magical" to fix it, so it would hurt my pride to release crap because it does no justice to the original work and our group.  Also, I'm tired of Mangafox and the stupid people who think they are doing a service by unloading AnS to that site.  So for now, for the sake of my sanity, we are going to take a break from AnS and evaluate its continuation when the Volume 8 tankoubon releases.  While waiting for that, it would be a blessing if one of Mangafox's sh**ty groups would put out some crap to keep the the entitled brats at bay so we don't have to worry about uploading and so we could actually put out a high quality ZIP for those who truly love the series.  I expect that we will return to the series in September, if as expected, the tankoubon releases in early September.

Izana Wallpaper

We don't have a release for you today, but Tamaririn took the time to clean the title page from AnS Chp 34.  I added a little border to make a nifty wallpaper!

Have at it!

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" Chp 34

I'd love to see a clean version of this drawing.  It's too bad when the tankoubon is published, the clean image will be in black-and-white instead of color.  Maybe one day Akidzuki-sensei will bless us with an illustration book so we can see clean versions of the color title pages.

This chapter sets the premise for the present story arc.  Honestly, the medical/pharma stuff doesn't interest me. Rather, I'm more interested in whether Ms. Naki is Izana's love interest.  Haha!  I guess I just want to see what kind of woman Izana ends up with.  I'm rather impatient and I want to get to the heart-to-heart between Izana and Shirayuki and I want some Zen and Shirayuki time...sigh...haha, but well...I guess I have to eat my veggies first before we get to the meat and dessert.

Onto the link!

Next up! There will be a short lull while we prepare the next batch of releases!

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" Chapter 33

First of all, a little bit of business.  Viz's Shojo Beat is accepting licensing suggestions on Twitter.  AnS came up quite a few times.  I would love it if the momentum were stepped up so this series can't be ignored and Akidzuki Sorata can get some money from us (more than just the fraction of us who buy the tankoubon).  So if you don't mind, please Tweet to @Shojobeat about AnS.  Let's make a big push to get this series licensed!

I did what I could with this chapter in terms of image editing.  The pages look okay until page 17 and then after that there was simply not enough data to salvage the images.  As a consequence the pages are very grainy and there are some bare patches.  It's a shame too because I get the feeling that the last few pages are actually quite beautiful.  I guess I and whoever buys the volume 8 tankoubon will get to see the chapter as it was meant to be.  Fortunately, chapter 34 was printed in the nice section of Lala, so that chapter will be high quality.

This chapter begins a new arch in the story.  Looking at chapter 34, perhaps now we'll get to Shirayuki interact with Izana.  I know there are some of us who like the idea of Izana x Shirayuki (me included), but I get the feeling that Akidzuki wouldn't even toy with that notion.  My guess is that Izana, Shirayuki, and Ryuu will have some sort of adventure that will result in Izana personally acknowledging Shirayuki. ...But we shall see.  Maybe we're in for a surprise^^.

On to the link!

My thoughts on the chapter:

As usual, Zen is far too nice and bland.  Personally, it would have been nice to see him wasted while drinking with Izana or to find out that he's got an iron stomach and can hold his alcohol.  That moment seemed to be a missed opportunity for some humor and character building.

I love the lab coat uniform!  I would definitely wear one of those :).

Izana and Ryuu fans rejoice! Chapter 34 has lots of these two characters in it.  Also, if you follow me on Twitter, then you may have seen the teaser photo I took of Izana on the two page color title page spread for chapter 34.  It's a VERY nice drawing/painting.

Next up! I'm currently working on "Fushigi no Maria-kun" Chp 5!  A lot of the group is dealing with finals and final projects, so bare with us.  I'll be finishing up a lot of the half finished stuff that built up during March and April during this time and prepping for our third anniversary in June :).

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" Chapter 32

I'm delirious, so if what I write makes no sense, come back in a couple of days and I will have fixed it.

This is such a cute title page.  Obi in a tie looks strangely modern.  Before I forget, you may want to buy a copy of Lala 5 for some sweet AnS freebies (Pen pouch and Clear Bookmarks).

I've got my copy on order from Sanseido Bookstore :).

This chapter is very cute.  We learn a little about Obi, though I was hoping for more, but I'll take what I can get.  Just as a translator's note, I took a little editorial liberty on page 26 because the Japanese have a way of talking in double negatives that drives me up the freaking wall.  Forgive me translation purists, but I was gonna stab my eyes out if I let it stay that way.

Onto the link!

Next up is Magnolia Chp 20.

Lala 4 AnS Freebie

Lala 4 includes a sweet "Akagami no Shirayukihime" alternative book cover.  It's so cute.  Do I sense wallpaper material??? (Hint, hint all you creative people out there!)

There are also "Ookami Heika no Hanayome" and "Gakuen Kindergarten",  book cover included.  Both are these are also very nice :).

Dual Release: Akagami no Shirayukihime Chp 31 and the February 2012 Omake

First, a shameless plug for Akidzuki Sorata!  There will be a dual release of "Akagami no Shirayukihime" volume 7 and the "Vahlia Bridegroom" one-shot compilation on March 5th.  Copies have been pre-ordered for those who have already sent requests to piggyback on my late February order.  Also, the extra copies I ordered have been reserved.  However, it's not too late!  If you want your own copies of AnS Volume 7, "Vahlia's Bridegroom", and "Ao Rhapsodia" (the Akane Ogure one-shot compilation), I can piggy back your order onto my first order for the month of March (you will receive the books mid to late March instead of early march).  Also, if any of you want the OHSHC Perfect Guide, I can orders those too for you.  The books are $8.50 each and OHSHC Perfect Guide is $21.  Those prices include shipping from Japan.  There is separate shipping from my house to your on top of that.  Please see the Piggy Back ordering information page for more information about domestic shipping.

And now onto the chapters!

Obi looks very nice on this title page.  I would like to see a clean version of this drawing. Moving on, this is the "onsen" chapter.  It always amazes how manga and anime, regardless of the over arching nature of the work, manages to either throw in an onsen, umi (beach), or swimming pool chapter/episode.  Honestly, I never expected to see such a chapter in AnS. Back to Obi...this chapter continues Obi's character development.  He is quite the "merry trickster" and his pot stirring rivals my own husband's (shh!  Don't tell him I said that.  Hee!).  Fortunately, it's all in good fun and extremely funny to read.

A new character enters the scene and she has something to do with Obi's past. Who could she be and is the "sauciness" just an act?  There all some evil Kiki x Mitsuhide teasing...too cruel...way too cruel...

There's also a lot of talk about "change" in this chapter.  I found it rather strange since Zen and Shirayuki have already kissed at least a couple of times.  I would think that they would be beyond the point of timidly linking fingers.  I'm a bit confused because in my mind as soon as two friends kiss and confessed to one another, the relationship has moved beyond "friendship".  Seriously, they should go find a back shed, a barn, or some darkened dungeon to go secretly make-out in.  Linking fingers for 10 seconds is lame and a cop-out!  Obi and the rest seriously need to catch those two red-handed so we can cut the shy bull crap...meh...

Onto the links!  Futile as it may be, I beg you not to upload these to any of the online manga readers and aggregators.  The files are here!  There's no need to allow some sketchy company to make money off of work they didn't do.

Update 2/26/2012:  Fixed some minor typos

Next up!  Magnolia Chp 19 is currently being worked on along with the latest one-shot from Nari Kusakawa.  Lala 4 should arrive tomorrow with lastest one-shot from Kaoru Ichinose.  Any of those three could be our next release!

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" Chapter 30

First of all, please do not upload this to any of the manga aggregation websites.  There is no need to since it's readily available here and I think you all know I don't like manga aggregation websites.

Secondly, for those who hate the water-color look, I'm sorry.  I didn't have much of a choice but to edit the images this way because the the data was incomplete in the raw.  This is a way to "hide" the poor quality of the raw.  The last page is particular bad.  The data just wasn't there for me to pull the trick off properly, so it looks splotchy :(.  Anyhow, some detail was sacrificed, but you could say it was never there in the first place. I'm probably over thinking this :/.

Next, an announcement from the cover page:  There will be a dual release of "Akagami no Shirayukihime" Volume 7 and a compilation of Akidzuki Sorata's one-shots released on March 5th.  If you wish to purchase any of these books for yourself and need help with the purchase, send me an e-mail.  If I get enough requests, I should be able to get the books for ~$11 each, including postage for buyers in the US and Canada.

Okay, finally on to the chapter!  We continue from where the story ended in chapter 29.  We get more of an understanding of what Zen meant by his last words in chapter 29.  This was particularly hard for the translator to understand, because depending on the context, there are several variations of a possible translation.  Both of us were not able to grasp the correct translation until we read chapter 30.  I'm glad we waited because it could have been translated to "From now on, I want to make it known", which would have led everyone to think that Zen wanted to make their relationship public.  Ugh...it would have been awful to have to change that.  Anyhow, the chapter ends putting us in position for the next arc.  I hope it keeps to Zen and Shirayuki's relationship and doesn't go into "adventure land".  They're wet and they're going to an inn.  Please let that go where it should...please!  Pretty please!!!

And now, the link to the chapter!

With this, we are caught up on the series.  There will not be another release for at least a month.  This is a monthly series, which means one chapter per month unless there is a special chapter in another magazine other than Lala.

Next up is "Fushigi no Maria-kun" Chapter 4

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" Chapter 29

Before we get to the nitty-gritty of releasing this chapter, there are a few things that I feel I need to say.
  1. We are not dropping "Akagami no Shirayukihime".  The past 3 chapters have been quite good and I personally want to go forward.
  2. If a group capable of maintaining the image quality and translation quality and the time dedication approaches us about taking over the series, we will gladly transfer the series so we can work on other things.
  3. I will make a greater effort to refrain from knee-jerk reactions in the future.
  4. The image quality for chapter 29 and 30 turned out far better than expected, so I don't feel the need to do re-releases when the tankoubon comes out.  I'd rather spend an extra day now than spend 3 or 4 days re-doing it.
My honest thoughts on the Mangafox issue:
  1. People need to be appreciative of Snoze's efforts.  It was her first scanlation and just getting up the nerve to do that was amazingly brave.
  2. Despite Snoze's effort, after more than casual review of the release, we at Omari's Sister felt that we had something different to offer, so we are releasing our own version of chapter 29 and we will not be transferring the series on a formal basis to Snoze.
  3. There are drastic differences between the two releases.  I ask you to appreciate both efforts on the chapter.  It takes time, effort, and guts on both our parts to do scanlation.
  4. Neither Snoze or OS offer an official translation of AnS.  We will make mistakes.  OS does its best to QC our own work, but we are not paid professionals nor are we native Japanese speakers.  Please, if you want an official translation, write to your local manga publishers and ask them to license this series.
Okay...now onto to actually talking about the chapter :).  This is a lovely chapter!  We are finally getting a lot development with respect to Zen and Shirayuki's relationship and Izana's feelings toward it.  I feel like the story is coming to an end, though, I know it doesn't end at volume 7, so I imagine this means we have at least 3 or 4 more chapters left...though, you never can be sure.  This series might drag on until it dies cruelly.  Let's hope not.  One more volume would be perfect in my opinion.

Next up will be AnS Chapter 30.  We hope to have it done by Tuesday the 10th.

Akagami Update -- Situation Resolved

Update:
I have been contacted by the scanlator who did the Mangafox version and we are talking about having her help with AnS as a member of OS.  Hopefully, this will all work out. Anyhow...so here's the plan moving forward.  We will make AnS an active project again.  We will release our own version of chapter 29.  I'm debating whether to do chapter 29 this month or skip it and move onto chapter 30 and swing back around to chapter 29 when the tankoubon comes out.

Anyhow, thank you are for your support.  Hopefully, we'll be able to work things out such that we have the best situation for AnS (short of it finally getting licensed -- dear Lord, please let a US publisher license this series!!!  UGH!!!!)
------------------------------------------------------

Update:  I'm not sure why the person released chapter 29 on Mangafox, but it sounds like he or she is not committed to the series.  Hopefully this person will talk to us, because if he or she wants to take over the series, I have no issue with it.  However, this leaves us in a weird situation.  I don't want to do duplicate work on the series.  If that person is, indeed, not committed to the series, then we will go ahead and finish chapter 29 and resume work on the series.
---------------------------------------

It looks like another group has taken on AnS.  If this group continues, I'm gonna let them take it so we can work on other things.  So, for now, we are suspending "Akagami no Shirayukihime".

Full steam ahead on "Ojousama no Untenshu" and "Ore to Atashi no Kareshi-sama"!!!!   HEEEEEE!!!  Too excited!!!!

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" Chapter 28

I only got one proofread on this, but I wanted to put it out now before New's Year activities sweep me away.  Hopefully, we caught all of the egregious typos.  I'll update the file at a later time if more typos are discovered.

I'd like to thank Amrai for taking on the difficult task of translating this chapter.  The Akidzuki Word Salad was horrifically bitter and full of tear inducing onions this time.  I'd also like to thank Kotomi for helping me beat the script into shape.  This chapter was a challenge all around.

This is the last re-introduction chapter in Lala magazine.  The next chapter launches into the next arc of the story.  This is a cute chapter, but it's also a filler chapter.  It revolves around the relationship between Mitsuhide and Zen...and attempts, in a shirtless moment, to grow Zen up some more.

Chapter 29 and 30 are very special and it's a shame they were printed so poorly in Lala magazine.  Because I don't want to keep myself and the readers waiting, we will go ahead and do low quality releases of the two chapters.  I don't know when the tankoubon is coming out, but I know it's after February, and that is an unreasonably long time to wait.  So we'll put our effort into the translation and typesetting, but we will not do much in the way of cleaning and redrawing.  We'll put the effort into the images when get the high quality tankoubon.   That effort won't be wasted because it's very easy to transfer text layers.

Anyhow...onto the link for chapter 28!

Link to "Akagami no Shirayukihime" Chapter 28:  (PDF) (Best viewed at 65% zoom)

Next up!  We are continuing to catch up on our neglected series, so next up will be "Rex Fabula" Chp 4, "Fushigi no Maria" Chp 4, "Ore to Atashi no Kareshi-sama" Chp 1, and "Ojousama no Untenshu" Chp 1.  Are of these are in some stage of completion, so it shouldn't take long to get them all released.  We also have 2 one-shots that are being typeset.  They could be released any day now ^^!

Recruitment!
We desperately need redraw artists!  Please contact me here (link)

Manga Review: "Dawn of Arcana" Volume 1

The Loving Spoonful:  The first volume of this series is AWESOME!  Nakaba is my girl and Loki is scrumptious.   There's a good mix of action, romance, and biting insults.  Oh, and the pacing is great!  It doesn't get bogged down in explanations or forced sentiments.  This series, so far, has everything I love. 5/5
---------------------
It's been a long time since I've written a manga review, so forgive me if this one turns out to be crappy.  I really don't know where to start on this one.  Let's just say when I bought it, I didn't know what to expect.  Red-haired Princess, obviously brings to mind AnS.   It was a comparison I was ready to make as I read "Dawn of Arcana".  I'd say about 5 or 6 pages into it, I realized that this was no clone or relative of AnS (Actually, it's more along the lines "Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen").  This is a truly strong red-haired princess, and her prince, though weak now, is no puss.  After that, AnS flew out of my mind and I was swept away with "Dawn of Arcana".

First a short summary:   In order to bring peace between warring countries, Princess Nakaba of the northern country of Senan marries Prince Cesear of the Southern country of Belquat.  Princess Nakaba has red-hair, the mark of commoner, which has led her to live a life of ridicule.  Princess Nakaba is accompanied by her faithful servant Loki, a strong part dog, part man bishie.  Of course, the Nakaba and Cesear don't like each other at first and one of their fights, involving a knife and sword, degenerates into dangerous foreplay -- ahem... Heheheh...ah yeah...I don't want to give anymore away, because this is something you have to read and let yourself get carried away with.

What I like most about this manga is that characters have bite.  They fight and they insult each other and the princess and the prince have a wonderful red hot tension between them.  Cesear wants to be strong and supported and Nakaba has enough strength to share.  But she is vulnerable as well.  Her life hasn't been easy and some sad back-story is revealed in this first volume.  I have the feeling some interesting political intrigue is coming in future volumes.  Oh, and did I mention that Loki is friggin AWESOME! Needless to say, I look forward very much to next volume of this series. 5/5

------------------------------

Some parting thoughts:  I don't know whether this series opens the door for series like AnS and ZHD to get licensed.  I think in comparison, AnS is bland and I wouldn't put it out now because the comparison is too easy.  Reading something like "Dawn of Arcana" really highlights some of AnS's story and character weaknesses.  ZHD, on the other hand, is similar to "Dawn of Arcana" in premise and character strength, but with less bite.  ZHD has slapstick comedic elements that sets it apart and keep the story from going too dark.  I could see ZHD being a great companion to "Dawn of Arcana".

As for AnS, I've been thinking a lot about it lately.  I'm glad the pirate arc is over.  I thought pirates would be cool, but it felt to me as though Sorata didn't have the same love of pirate romance as other mangaka.  AnS is much better when it sticks to character interactions and slice-of-life themes.  That said, I'm happy AnS has returned to the spirit of its earlier chapters, and I look forward to the deepening of Zen and Shirayuki's bond.

Torn About AnS from the Magazine

Update: Thanks to everyone who thoughtfully responded right away.  Your love of AnS is clear and I hear it.  I think the majority of you understand the difficulty of working with a bad raw and that we as a group don't want to do mediocre releases if there's an alternative.  So...here's what we're going to do:

  • Chapter 28 will be released as scheduled in December
  • In place of releasing a mediocre Chapter 29 in January, we will release the extras from Volume 6.
  • Chapter 29 will be done from the tankoubon as soon as we get it.  My hope is that it will be released sometime in February.
  • Chapter 30 and beyond we will consider month to month.  Hopefully, at least chapters 30 and 31 will be printed in the nice section of Lala so there won't be much of a gap.  I will do the translation along with the Lala releases and post summaries for those who want to be spoiled.
------------------------------------------------------------
Update:  Just to clarify, chapter 28 is coming out in December.  Chapter 29 is one I'm talking about.  It was planned for January.  We are going to move it to February so we can use a high quality raw.  My concern is what happens if the volume 8 chapters in Lala are crappy.  This could lead to a 4 month gap if we only use the tankoubon.

I just got Lala 1/2012 today and "Akagami no Shirayukihime" was printed in the crappy section of the magazine.  The image quality is not what I would like it to be.  Consquently, the resulting release would looks very different from the quality all of you and I are not used to.
It is my preference to work from a nice raw because Akiduki's drawings are gorgeous and deserve to be showcased.  At the same time, I realize that the team and I have volunteered to serve more than just ourselves.  I imagine there are those of you for whom legible is good enough.  So the question is whether we as a group put the time and effort into cleaning and redrawing what would be a medium quality (at best) release or do we wait for the tankoubon and do high quality releases?  My feeling is now that AnS is monthly the tankoubon will be released every five or six months and volume 7 will be released in February 2012.  We would release chapter 28 in December as planned and then go from the tankoubon after.  If we work from the magazine, we will not go back and redo it from the tankoubon, so whatever crap comes out of Lala magazine is what you would get.
---------------------------

Update:  I think skipping a release in January isn't a big deal.  The real problem comes after Chapter 30 if they continue to print the series in the crappy part of the magazine.  We'd have to wait until the 8th volume to continue which could potentially be in the late summer :(.  I think, though, chapter 3/29 is too important to do a poor job on.  I'm really baffled as to why such an important chapter was printed so poorly.

Anyhow, I want to know how you all feel about it.  Please leave a comment with your thoughts and suggestions.  I will also put up a poll in the right side column of this blog.

Akagami no Shirayukihime Chapter 27

Oh, I almost forgot!  "Akagami no Shirayukihime" volume 6 is available in Japanese.

Please support Sorata-sensei by purchasing the book even if you don't read Japanese.  Here are some purchasing options:

Amazon JP
Yes Asia
HMV

If you are timid, I can facilitate the purchase by piggybacking it onto my own purchases.  If you are interested in this option, send me a e-mail via the contact link at the top of this blog.

After going back and forth on the matter, I decided that the continuation of "Akagami no Shirayukihime" in Lala magazine should be called chapter 27.  I settled on this because volume 6 only goes up to chapter 25, leaving chapter 26 for volume 7.  Therefore, it only seems logical that this first appearance in Lala should be chapter 27.  Hopefully, it doesn't get too confusing since the next chapter is explicitly called "chapter 2 of the Lala serialization".

Anyhow, the story returns back to Wistal on and the main and supporting characters are briefly introduced again.  If you are new to the series, you may be able to start the story here without having to read the first 26 chapters.  I do, think, though, it's worth it to read at least the first 3 or 4 and chapters 13 - 16 to understand Shirayiki's hair issues and Zen's general Zen-ness and issues. Most of the other chapters cover the Kiharu and the birds arc and the pirates arc.  Personally, I think the omakes are more interesting than these chapters.

Oh yeah!  In honor of the new start in Lala magazine, I decided to do some much desired updates to the look of the series and to tweak some of the names I continues over from before I started translating the series.  The most notable changes are the main font and:

Zen Wisteria = Zen Wistalia
Clarines  = Clariness

Hopefully, this won't upset you all.  I feel better though.  No more irritation for me.

There are some extras in volume 6 that I haven't had the chance to turn to bits yet.  I'll try to get those out after we take care of the high priority stuff from Shiro Lala.

Updated: 11/16/2011 -- Small change to the translation on the last page (Thank you Reiu_u).
Updated: 11/11/2011 -- re-translation of page 45. Please forgive my farty brain.
Updated:  11/10/2011 -- small edits
Okay, now onto the link: (PDF.) (Don't ask about a Zip. Can't do it because MFer's will upload it)

Some thoughts about this chapter and Akagami in general:

It seems that the pirate arc was supposed to be a rite of passage into manhood for Zen.  He's now effectively fighting with his sword and has an imposing presence -- or so it is written.  He still looks 12, though :(.  Looking at chapter 28, it seems that the general trend is to grow Zen up.

Shirayuki -- sigh...she's lost all her power is is now dependent on her "knight" to rescue her and keep her safe.  I hope this is only a temporary state.  I would like to see Shirayuki take a personal journey to regain herself confidence and independence.  A little bit of my heart broke when she said that she chose to follow Zen's path.  What about her own path?  It doesn't have to diverge from Zen, but I don't like the idea of her abandoning herself for Zen.

The Play -- hmm...could this be foreshadowing future events?

Next up!
Shiro Lala madness, unless it doesn't get delivered until Monday (tomorrow is Federal holiday, so I'm not sure if DHL will make deliveries tomorrow.)  If I don't get Shiro Lala until Monday, then I should be able to eek out "Seirei Produce" chapter 7.

Look out for our Shiro Lala plans on this blog and follow our release on Twitter @OmarissisterRel

Update!  Tell us what you like us to do in November and December.  Do you want us to translate most of Kuro Lala and Shiro Lala or space it out and focus on the series.  Please take the poll in the upper right hand column of this blog.

Here's some more information about Shiro Lala.  More mangaka have been announced and there are some teasers for the one-shots.  Sorry, I don't have time to completely translate the advertisement, but hopefully this is enough info and pictures to get you excited.  We will try to bring you most of these one-shots.  I'll present of the schedule of releases once I have the magazine in hand and decide which one-shots we will translate.  I'm totally psyched!  We still have so much to do from Kuro Lala.  Haha!  We'll get though both magazines eventually (Click on the images to see a larger version).

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" Chapter 26

At last we come to the end of the Tanburn arc.  I'm kinda surprised this chapter didn't begin with some color pages.  Oh well, this is still nice.
Anyhow...a lot of loose ends are tied up in this chapter.  We finally learn who Shirayuki really is and why Kadzuki kidnapped her.  I kinda wish that there was more to the pirate and the Mountain Lion grudge and more to the pirate's boss than she's an angry and violent woman.  I wanted there to be some history other than tit for tat.  But...alas, this is not a story about pirates and vigilantes who live in the mountains -- though, if there ever was such romance, I would read that.  Aah...a crazy, but seductive female pirate queen and a justice minded vigilante who's not sure whether he's chasing her for love or justice.  It sounds so cliched, but I would be totally into that!  It'd eat that up like a tub of ice cream!

*Coming back down to earth.* As you may know, "Akagami no Shirayukihime" has moved from Lala DX to Lala magazine.  This means that AnS will come out monthly from now on.  There is a trade-off, though,  Lala DX has much better print quality compared to Lala.  We are fortunate that the first chapter of the new arc is printed in the high quality section of Lala, but there is no guarantee that it will be consistently printed nicely.  Like we do with "The Ghost Apartment Manager", when the print quality is good enough for us to generate a high quality release, we will work from the magazine.  If the magazine print quality is too low, then we will wait for the tankoubon.  If this happens, then it will result in a long delay as we wait for the volumes.

And now for the links (yes, we are releasing a zip for this one. Some parts of the chapter are too pretty not to):  (Zip) (PDF -- for mobiles and tablets)

Next up is Yukarism Chp 8!

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" Chapter 25

At last!  I'm so sorry for the delay!  As you know things happens and plans fall through.  Anyhow, we got it done and chapter 26 is well on it's way to getting done.  I don't know what's going to happen when AnS moves to Lala magazine.  I suspect chapter 27 will be printed with high quality and then after that the image quality will be inconsistent and we'll have the same problem that we have with "The Ghost Apartment Manager".  If the print quality is really poor, then we will have no choice but to wait for the tankoubon.  We've taken so much care so far that it would be a shame to put out crappy looking releases because we are in a hurry.  We'll do our best and I'll will definitely announce the image quality of chapters.

This is the second to last chapter in the Tanburn arc.  It has lots of action and is in general "kick ass".  The Sorata "Japanese word salad" was worse than usual in this chapter, so I apologize now for any translation errors I've made.  Also, I'd like to announce that this is Silver Lunar's debut as a typesetter.  Good job, Silver Lunar!  And I'd also like to thank Tin for helping me pinpoint some translation errors.  Anyhow, here are the links!

Next up!
I'm about to go nuts because my copy of Aria magazine hasn't arrived yet.  I need my hit of "Magnolia" now!  I guess until it arrives, I'll be working on the extra chapters of "Ouran" and "Hana Kimi" and prepping our fall one-shots.

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" Transfer Cancelled and Announcements

"Akagami no Shirayukihime" is returning to Omari's Sister.  The transfer to The Zero Alliance fell through and we have a translator and typesetter for the series, so we can continue it.  It's not clear whether we will be releasing along side the Lala magazine releases.  It depends on the print quality of the chapters in the magazine.  If it's really bad, then we will wait for the tankoubon.  Hopefully, this series will not go on indefinitely.

Anyhow...as a consequence, though, it will impact our schedule on some other series.  Considering the successful debut of "Fushigi no Maria-kun", I'm hesitant to slow it down.  I decided to be selfish and bump "Pika Ichi" down to a low priority project, meaning, we'll put out a chapter whenever we can fit it into the schedule, unless some other group wants to pick it up.  Sorry Pika fans, but Hanako getting kidnapped over and over is not a compelling story...

I've updated the ongoing projects to reflect what we are working on and currently releasing.  We haven't dropped any projects now missing.  All of these projects have been started, but it's doubtful we will be able to release any of them until 2012.  Please check the release schedule to see what we have coming up in the near and distant future.

Announcement: We're Gonna Finish Akagami no Shirayukihime Chp 25 & 26

I got LalaDX yesterday and AnS chapter 26 is the end of the "Tanburn Arc" of the story.  After that the series will move to Lala magazine, which means the series will potentially be a monthly series beginning with chpater 27.  I talked matters over with TZA and it seems to us that it would be best to let Omari's Sister finish out the Tanburn Arc and then transition the project entirely over to TZA and Neteru Mouse when it moves to Lala.

We'll work on chapters 25 and 26 concurrently with our other projects.  We will release chapter 25 before the end of August.  All of us are sorry for the extreme delay, and we'll do our best to get AnS out without wrecking the rest of the schedule.

Pika Ichi Chapter 8 Preview! And AnS Announcement...

Update:  The new translator for AnS is Nati-chan (I'm very grateful to her for taking over because chapter 25 was like Japanese chopped word-salad to me -- devoid of grammatical structure and too many obscure word usages for me to grasp...ugh...page after page of WTF???).  AnS will now be a joint project between NeteruMouse and The Zero Alliance.  We will make Zip and PDF versions of AnS available here on Omari's Sister for those of you who can't open RAR files, those of you who are afraid of MediaFire, and for those of you who prefer to read releases on mobiles and tablets.  We will all try our best to get the remaining chapters out to you in a timely manner, so please be patient and refrain from pestering the folks from NM and TZA about release dates.

Yes! "Pika Ichi" is returning but as a low priority project.  This means that releases will not be on a regular schedule.  I'm sorry about the delay we took, but I wanted to get a few more chapters in to see where the story was going into order to decide whether to continue the series or drop it.  During that time, I came to understand and appreciate the ridiculousness of "Pika Ichi", so I can now say I like the series and I'm eager to continue it (for the meantime, barring no stupid plot twists.)

Here's a preview of chapter 8 to get you ready for the series' resumption!

"Pika Ichi" chapter 8 should be ready for release in less than a week.

On to the AnS news!  "Akagami no Shirayukihime" is being transferred to The Zero Alliance.  I will continue on as the image editor for the series and we will PDF releases available here, but TZA will be managing AnS schedule and releases.  I'll post more information on the transfer once things become clearer.  Hooray for AnS's new home!
