Redraw Artist Needed for the Completion of "Ojousama no Untenshu"

We need a skilled redraw artist or two for the next 3 months to complete "Ojousama no Untenshu".  It's only a 3-month or 8 chapter commitment.  If you are interested, please contact me (Kuroneko003) via the contact me link at the top right corner of this blog.

Omari's Sister is Recruiting!

Omari's Sister Needs You!
We need new blood!  Omari's Sister is recruiting!  We need additional staff to maintain pace after June.  Here's what we need.
  • Cleaners/Redraw Artists/Image Editors -- I would prefer experienced volunteers, but if you have access to Photoshop and some experience using it, I'm willing to train you.  People with experience clone stamping and redrawing are most desired.  The minimum time expectation is one project per month.
If you are interested in volunteering for Omari's Sister, please send me an e-mail via the "Contact" link at the top of this blog.

People who are new to cleaning, consult this tutorial first to make sure you are familiar enough with Photoshop:  http://senbonzakura.kageyoshi.net/beginners-start-here/

Omari's Sister is Recruiting!

We are making a big push toward our 3rd anniversary in June!  We intend to have a profusion of releases -- primarily the remaining one-shots from Kuro Lala and Shiro Lala.  Due to this, we are in need of some additional help with our regular release and our anniversary releases.  Here's a list of what we need!

  • Proofreaders and QCers -- Proofreading the English for typos, syntax error, and grammar errors and making sure the letterer didn't leave out any text.  You must be fluent in English.  I would prefer volunteers with expertise in grammar, but if you are eager and are willing to put in an hour or two once or twice a week, that works for me.  These are ongoing volunteer positions.  We have enough volunteers for now.  Thanks to those who e-mailed me.
  • Translation QC -- Mid level Japanese knowledge is fine, though advanced level is preferred.  I need folks to check the translations to make sure they are accurate.  This is a temporary need for our anniversary releases, though you are welcomed to stay on after.
  • Redraw Artist/Image Editors -- I need a couple of experienced redraw artists to work on Kuro Lala and Shiro Lala projects.  You are welcome to stay on with the group after our anniversary.
  • Typesetters/Letters -- I need a fearless typesetter or two who loves fonts and sound effects.  This is also a temporary need for our anniversary, though you are welcome to stay on after.
If you are interested in any of these volunteer positions, please contact me, Kuroneko003, via the contact link at the top of the right hand column of this blog.

Haha!  I can't believe we don't need translators.  I'm so grateful to our wonderful translators for the help they provide.  Though, if you are burning to translate for Omari's Sister, we will definitely find something for you to do :).

Omari's Sister is Recruiting! Redraw Artists Needed!

We are in need of some help with redraws.  We have a backlog of releases that need redraws.    Specifically, we need help with:
  • Ojousama no Untenshu
  • Ore to Atashi no Kareshi-sama
  • Fushigi no Maria-kun
  • Furou Kyoudai
If you are an experienced redraw artist (clone stamping & line drawing) and would like to help -- temporary help is welcomed -- please contact me (Kuronek0003) via the "contact" link at the top of the right hand column.

Kuro Lala and Shiro Lala One-shot Party?

Update:
I've looked at the series we're doing and the resources and we will do half and half.  This means that we will be doing one-shots for Kuro Lala and Shiro Lala through-out the rest of the fall and winter :).  There will be no set schedule for the one-shot releases.  They'll get done as they get done!
----------------------------------------------

So far Omari's Sister's volunteers and a lot of the readers are enthusiastic about the Kuro Lala and Shiro Lala one-shots.  I'm now working on a schedule that will allow us to do most of the one-shots and maintain a decent pace on our series.  We will not interrupt Magnolia, Yukarism, and Akagami no Shirayukihime.  The other series, we will release as they get done in November and December.  In January, we will return to regular releases of series and 2 or 3 one-shots per month.  During this one-shot party, we will release the one-shot by our most beloved mangaka first and introduce you all to some little known mangaka as we finish the project in 2012.  We will also throw in some one-shots that are not from Kuro or Shiro Lala. These were planned and begun months ago, so I want to release them too.  Here's the beginning of the list of the stuff from Kuro Lala that will do (will add to the list as I get them into my computer).  If there's a particular one-shot on this list that you are burning to read, leave a comment.  This will help me figure out the priority of projects.:

Kuro Lala:
  • "Kachuu no Ou" by Kure Yuki -- A historical one-shot with lots of bishies
  • "Inori Hana" ("Prayer Flower") by Hayashi Mikase -- Nothing good can come of a guy who looks like Edgar Allan Poe telling a story of a little girl who starts off caught in a bear trap and eventually gets hold of a very big knife.
  • "Genei Realism" ("Phantom Realism") by Toone Suka -- A female high school student's shadow is a creepy gansta looking guy.  There's blood on her hands, a knife, and a baseball bat involved...this story looks REALLY creepy.
  • "Sabaku no Requiem" -- A singing Shinigami wanders the desert, singing people to death. This looks like it could be very moving.
  • "Yadokari Hanpa" ("The Rental Main Office") by Onda Shizuru -- A renter is haunted by the ghost of his dead fiancee.  His nosy landlord forces his help upon the frightened tenant.
  • "Access" -- The first chapter of a series that runs in Lala DX.  This series revolves around cursed text messages.
  • "F no Meikyuu" ("F's Labyrinth") -- Psychic teenage detective investigate the case of a missing teen.
  • "The Red House" by Yamada Sarueru -- Stay the **** away from the Red House.  Nothing good happens there.  Seriously, it's horrifying. It'll land you in the hospital.  -- Okay, no not really. I just thought that sounded cool ;p
  • "Tsuki no Kanon" ("The Moon's Canon") by Seitou Ken
  • "Katakoi" by Nanri Jun -- heheheh...gonna keep mum on this one because it's better than way :)
If you are an experienced Japanese to English translator, redraw artist, or typesetter and would like to help with these releases, please contact me using the contact link at the top of this blog.  Be prepared to show some examples of your work.

Omari's Sister is Recruiting!

Wanna join Omari's Sister?  We're looking for some new blood to help out.  This time, though, I am looking for people with some experience.  Here's what I need:
  • Folks who can do redraws and clone stamping
  • QC/Proofreaders (if you know Japanese, that's a bonus!)
  • Translation QC and script writing
  • Typesetter (you need to know some Japanese) -- this is one a month or less.
  • Precleaner (must be have certain software or be willing to purchase certain software)
If you are interested, please send me (Kuroneko003) an e-mail via the contact link at the top of the blog (all other communication will be ignored).  Redraw and clone stamping people have some samples ready and be prepared to be tested.  Please only apply if you really have at least 4-hours a week to volunteer.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Omari's Sister but have no experience, you can still contact me to.  As long as you have time, enthusiasm, Photoshop, and basic Photoshop skills, I can get you up and cleaning within a week.  Just be aware that at this time I may not be able to start training you immediately.  Also, if you want to help with translation, contact me.

Recruitment: "Pika Ichi" Translator Needed

I'm tired of translating "Pika Ichi", however, we do have volunteers that are dedicated to cleaning and doing the image editing for the series.  Basically, we could continue the series on a regular monthly basis if we get a good Japanese-to-English translator (and typesetter) to take it on.  If you are interested in translating (and typesetting) this series, please contact me via e-mail using the "Contact" link on the top menu.

If we don't get a "Pika Ichi" translator, then I will translate it when I get to it.  It will be a low priority project.

Recruitment: Cleaners Needed

We need a couple of cleaners to help out at Omari's Sister.  I would prefer folks who have cleaned before, but if you have Photoshop and know how to use it, I'm willing to train you.  If you are an experienced cleaner who can also help with some of the redrawing, you get double hugs!  If you are interested, contact me, Kuroneko003, using the Contact Link in the top menu of this blog.

Recruiting: Cleaners Needed

Update - 7/1/1010:

Recruitment was a huge success!  It looks like we got all the help we need including someone to help out a little with the Japanese.  Thanks to everyone who responded.  I hope to announce the new members of the team in the upcoming weeks :).
-----------------------------------

Omari's Sister is recruiting!  We need one or two cleaners to help on "Kimi ni XOXO," "Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen," and the one-shots.  Experience as a cleaner is desired, but not needed.  If you have Photoshop software, but no or little experience cleaning, I (Kuroneko003) will train you.  If you are interested, please use the "Contact" link in the main menu to send me (Kuroneko003) an e-mail (or just link the word in this sentence).

Also, as always, I'm looking for a second translator :).

Some Thoughts on a New Series to Translate and Recruitment

http://deliporo.wordpress.com/I've been looking through my stacks of magazines and so far here's what caught my eye:

  • "Jiu Jiu" -- Chp 1 is already out, but there hasn't been an update in 3-months.  The first chapter didn't impress me that much (the dialog is very flat and lifeless), but the later chapters look interesting.  I will check back into this series to see if the groups that did the first chapter are, indeed, continuing it.  If some of you have time, please read the first chapter (Link) and let me know what you think.
  • "The Princess and the Three Wild Beasts" -- This series has super long chapters!  The first chapter is 80-pages and chapter 2 is 70-pages.   Another blogger started writing a summary of the first chapter.  Here's a link to the summary. I'm not sold on it yet and I think there could be better series out there.  Let me know what you think.
  • "The Shadow Butler's Mistakes" -- This series looks like lots of old fashion fun and easy to digest.  I will do a first chapter trial of this series too in either June or July. I took a deeper look and it's the typical super butler/ojou thing.  I think we can do without another one of those series.
  • "Seirei Produce" ("Spirit Produce") -- It's a new series running in Asuka magazine.  I will do a first chapter trial in June or July.  The female lead character looks quite spunky ;p.
After translating the first few pages of the "Love Sick" chapter 2, I've decided to leave it on the back burner.  There are many more interesting series out there than this.

Recruitment for "Gliding Reki"
"Gliding Reki" is a short series from the same mangaka who writes the "Legend of Zelda" manga.  It's only 2-volumes long.  I will do the translation, but to complete the project, we need a typesetter and another person to do cleaning and image editing.  I'm also open to having someone other that me do the English adaptation from the translation.  This recruitment is only for this project.  We are also open to collaborating with another group for this project.  If you are interested, please send me an e-mail.  I am currently sourcing the raw and I expect to start this project in June.  We cannot find a good source for this series.

I will continue to look into new series.  Please continue to comment with your suggestions.
