"Seirei Produce" Chapter 10 (End)

Aren't these covers lovely! :3

I need to do a bit of business first. So, for fans of this series, Volumes 1 and 2 are available for purchase.  I have the two books and they are gorgeous.  Each book contain some color pages.  I encourage you to support Tooko Miyagi and buy the books.  Here are some links to purchase:

Yes Asia: Volume 1/Volume 2
Amazon JP:  Volume 1/Volume 2

Also, if you want, I can order the books for you and potentially save you a little bit on postage.

Okay...onto the chapter.  This is the final chapter of "Seirei Produce".  Compared to the comedic beginning, this wraps everything up in dramatic fashion.  I love the way this series ends.  The way everything is tied up a beautiful and well thought out and a little reminiscent of a Biblical story.  The lore presented is very sweet.  Anyhow...without further delay, the final chapter of "Seirei Produce".

Next up -- Hahaha!  Several things are being worked on and I don't know what's coming up next.  Check the release schedule to see what we're up to.

"Seirei Produce" Chapter 9

First of all, happy birthday Omari!  Hubby and I had a great time having dinner with him tonight and reminiscing about his love of matchbox cars and potty training when he was toddler.  Ah yes, I was and still am a baka-nee.

Second of all, this Kayori's debut as an image editor for Omari's Sister.  She's actually been working on a lot of projects, but this is the first one that's been completed.  Kayori is very active in the chatbox, so please say hi to her and let's all welcome her as a member of Omari's Sister.   We'll be seeing a lot of her work from now on.

I feel like it's been a hard struggle to get this chapter out.  I've had very little time after work to typeset and when I did have time, I fell asleep due to lack of sleep...ugh...it was a vicious cycle.  Those of you who are not married will one day understand the misery of business trips.  Needless to say, after two weeks of poor sleep, I'm a zombie.  Thank goodness for the weekend.  Hopefully, I can make up for the lost sleep AND do the laundry AND typeset "Seirei Produce" Chapter 10.  Oh, if you're wondering about my new job, it is indeed fitting and I'm enjoying what I do.  Oh, and hubby brought home some cute souvenirs for me.  I'll post some pictures to Twitter (@Omarissister) tomorrow.

Onto the release!  This is the second to last chapter of the series.  I won't keep you suffering in suspense long, so check back Sunday night (PST) for the final chapter.  I don't want to say much for fear of spoiling, but  I will say that these last two chapter are very powerful and the last chapter is a tearjerker.

A bunch of things are in the works after the final chapter of "Seirei Produce".  I should have a better handle of the situation later on this weekend.

"Seirei Produce" Chapter 8

Strangely enough, this chapter is very appropriate for Christmas because Amane's backstory is eerily similar to the story of another spirit that descended to Earth whose birth we celebrate this time of year.  Hmmm...It's an interesting twist on that story.  Hahaha!  I wonder if there will be any further parallels.

In this chapter we get a big dose of Amane's back story and the link between what happened to Shiina as a child when she died.  A lot of this links back the extra story that came out between chapters 5 and 6.  In case you haven't read it, here's the link (LINK).  It turns out that childhood flashback is crucial to the story (as well as adorable!).

The story seems to be moving along very quickly, which makes me wonder whether this is going to be contained within less than 5 volumes.  That would be nice.  It would seem weird now to go back to being slapstick after going serious.  Although...considering where Kanae's "claw" is located, it should be plenty funny seeing Amane get it.  The only way that comes to my mind a probing kiss -- heheh...and the fudoshi's all squeal...^^;  Sigh...yaoi undertones seem to unavoidable lately.  I'm not a fan of that gimmick...but I'll roll with it as long as it's not taken too far.

And onto the link!

Updated 12/24/2011:  Small change to the translation on page 6 (page 5 not counting the credits). The change does not impact the story.

Next up!

There are two one-shots that are being typeset now.  One of them will be ready for release on New Year's Eve.  The other one, I no control over and will arrive when it arrives :(.  I hope, though, that it will be ready next week.  The next chapter of  "Kemono Kingdom: Zoo" will release on Bakeneko's Lair next week.  Beyond that, I don't know.  I do know that I will be working on series and putting in some time on the cleaning and redraws that need to be done on "Akagami no Shirayukihime", "Fushigi no Maria-kun", "Ore to Atashi no Kareshi-sama", and "Rex Fabula".

"Seirei Produce" Chapter 7

Huzzah!  "Seirei Produce" is back!  Oh how I missed the Amane/Fuuta comedy pair.  A note on chapters 5 and 6, I had a rare type of brainfart and I only saw the kanjis and discarded the furiganas for the middle brother's name.  Instead of "Ookami the Black/Blue", he is "Sou the Wolf".  Personally, I like "Ookami the Black"...but that's not the name the mangaka intended.  So it's "Sou" from now on and I've gone back and updated chapters 5 and 6 (hopefully, I've caught all instances of it).
I also decided to call Fuuta a Fox since the other two brothers are actual animals and not mythical creatures.  As for the oldest brother, "Murder of Crows" is kinda long, so I fudged things a little.  I called him "Hakua no Kanae, the Murder of Crows" so Yachiyo could call him "Hakua-sama" rather than "Murder of Crows-sama".  I'm sorry if it seems redundant to all you folks who know Japanese.

Chapter 7 starts off with a flashback to Shiina's childhood that gives some hint about the origin of her God-like strength.  Who is that God-like being?  His hair is crazy long!  Toward the end, we finally meet the third brother.  Oh my, that trio is handsome, but Ookami is still the best :).  He seems like a really good guy.  The oldest brother, though, has a very ominous name.  Crows spook me to the core.  Hitchcock's "The Birds" made a strong impression on me as a child, so "Murder of Crows" sounds absolutely horrifying.  Anyhow this Hakua no Kanae guy is a silver tongued devil, but it doesn't seem like Shiina's or Ookami were brainwashed.  I once had a manager who spoke like Hakua no Kanae.  I'm convinced he's a psychopath...just saying...

Anyhow, enough of my babbling.  Onto the link!

Next up will be the Shiro Lala one-shots "The Magician and the Love Potion" by Yuu Toyota and "Proof of a Silver World" by Akiduki Sorata for your Thanksgiving week reading pleasure.  After that, I'll sneak in a food themed one-shot to celebrate the 3 days of post Thanksgiving feast bliss.

"Seirei Produce" Chapter 6

Hopefully this isn't the last of "Seirei Produce."  Anyhow, in this chapter, Amane continues to "rock" the school girl uniform.  You have to admire his unwavering confidence.  Plus, there's more of the handsome Ookami the Blue.

I'll keep my eyes open for any more news on the continuation of "Seirei Produce" and I'll update the status as soon as it changes.

Next up is the short Ouran omake from the latest issue of Lala Special.  After that will be either "Pika Ichi" chapter 4 or the long version of "Furou Kyoudai."

"Seirei Produce" Update #2

I have Asuka 12 and yes, Miyagi Tooko is starting a new series in Asuka 1/2011.  She and another artist/writer are doing yet another retelling of  "The Story of Genji."  So...I guess after chapter 6, I'll count "Seirei Produce" as complete.

"Seirei Produce" Update

No word on "Seirei Produce," though from her website, it looks like the mangaka is starting a new series... =_= uh...huh?...Well, I'll find out when I get Asuka 12 on Tuesday.  If it is, indeed, a new series, then I supposed I will put "Seirei Produce" in the completed column and move on.

Does anybody know what's going on?

"Kimi ni XOXO" will Return in November!

"Kimi ni XOXO" will resume in Lala 1/ 2011.  It will be released in Japan on November 24th.

"Seirei Produce" Chapter 5

I suppose it's good enough to release with only one proofreading. If some other errors are pointed out, I'll update the files. Anyhow, this chapter is very funny. I love the confidence Amane exudes in a skirt. He's got a fabulous "supermodel pout." We also see more of the super handsome Ookami the Black ;p. *doki, doki*  I feel a frivolous survey coming on :).

Next up is the a very funny comedy series called "Magnolia"  Looking at my schedule, I think the group will have to choose between doing "Magnolia" and "Iiki no Ki" or one of them will have to have a bi-monthly release.  I'm very partial to "Magnolia" and it's more in line with what we usually do at Omari's Sister,  but I am willing to give "Iiki no Ki" a 3 chapter trial to see if it's going anywhere good.

Seirei Produce Hiatus Update

After chapter 6 "Seirei Produce" is on indefinite hiatus.  I checked the mangaka's website and I didn't see any information on when the series will resume.  All it said is that the series isn't finished.  We will complete the translation through chapter 6 and then resume the translation once the series starts up again.  Hopefully, it won't be too long so people don't lose complete interest in the story.  The series will be replaced by one-shots until it resumes.

"Seirei Produce" Volume 1 Extra Story

Here's the extra story that comes in between "Seirei Produce" chapter 5 and chapter 6.

Next up is "Ouran High School Host Club" chapter 82!

"Seirei Produce" Chapter 4

I'm so relieved we were able to get this out now.  Basically, the raw was so awful that we were having a difficult time cleaning and making the final product look decent.  It was such an awful experience that I put things off on this chapter.  A few of you, though, wrote in asking when chapter 4 was coming, so I decided to "rip the band-aid off" and get this over with.  "Big thanks" to Silver Lunar who shared in the cleaning pain and thanks to Luna for doing the Photoshop filter experiments.

So...chapter 4...we get some more fun with the Kitsune, who name is revealed to be "Fuuta" and a new character is introduced.  This chapter is basically the set up for chapters 5 and 6 and the chapter 5 omake.

Spanish Version coming soon!

Next up is "Akagami no Shirayukihime" and "Zettai Heiwa Daisakusen."  I will pick which one comes first based up which one looks more interesting.

"Seirei Produce" Chapter 3

Update -- July 5, 2010:  Eep!  It looks like I missed a small dialog bubble on page 24.  It's an insignificant piece of dialog ("gah"), but I went ahead and added it.  The file has the same name, so the link below is still valid.
-------------------------------------
Here is "Seirei Produce" chapter 3 (and no I wasn't joking about "strip rock-paper-scissors").  In this chapter we are more formally introduced to the kitsune character (though we don't learn his name).    We also get to see a new side of Gojou's character.  After this chapter I can't decide who is my favorite character.  Hmm...perhaps I'll make a poll...Anyhow, here's the link:

Link to "Seirei Produce" Chp 3

After reading the chapter, take the poll. (I will put it back up tomorrow -- seems to be broken today).  Here are some of my thoughts on the Seirei Produce characters:

Amane:  He's like a baby God.  He believes everything is his and he's more important than anyone else.  Sometimes I wonder whether he's actually insane because it seems that he has yet to do anything truly supernatural.  Either way he's adorable because he's so naive and I like how single minded his ambition is.

Shiina:  I love her spunk!  I like the way she rolls with the punches and at the same time puts Amane back in place.  It seems within this chapter we see that Shiina is super human.  It makes me wonder what she really is and who's her daddy...I'm gonna laugh so hard if he happens to be the ruling God in heaven who gave Amane the fan.  That way it would make sense that she could break the seal.  It could also mean that Shiina's mom isn't joking by calling her "The God of Destruction."

Gojou:  He's very mysterious.  Is he a god or an angel or something else.  He's actually quite humorous.

Chisa:  She's Shiina's youthful looking mother.  Like Shiina, she adaptable.  She's very flighty and a little too easygoing.  I like the random crap that spews from her mouth.

Kitsune:  He's quite full of himself and speaks nonsense.  I'm looking forward to seeing his personality unfold more.

The Crow:  He's a rude little SOB.  I like his insults.  He's a nice little "chorus" representation.
------------------

Next up are a couple of one-shots, "Bouquets of Flower for the Sleepless Knight" (it's a beautiful, funny, action-packed tear jerker.) and "The Timid Scarecrow Familiar," and "Orange Chocolate" chp 15.

"Seirei Produce" Chapter 2

Here is "Seirei Produce" Chapter 2:

Spanish Version (Coming Soon)
French Version (Coming Soon)

In this chapter we get more of a feel for Shiina and her family situation.  I really like Shiina! Her mother is pretty funny too.   Amane's, though, is a brat and is treated a little too much like eye candy (he kinda reminds me of "Aram" from "Meru Puri".  But turn about is fair play  I like this series, so we will take it on as a project!

Lala DX 7/2010 should be ready for me to pick up tomorrow.  According to the cover displayed on Amazon Japan, "Akagami no Shirayukihime" will be 45-pages!  I don't see anything on the cover about ZHD, but I do see the mangaka's name on the cover with a list of others names...hmm...I guess we'll find out what that's about tomorrow.

"Seirei Produce" Chapter 1

It's here!  Here is "Seirei Produce" chapter 1:

Spanish
French

As you probably noticed above, we are working with Spanish and  French scanlation teams on this series to do a multi-language release.  The Spanish team is called La Noche en los Caidos and the French team is called Hayana. I'm very excited about this and I'm happy that this series will be accessible to more people.

Please give us some feedback on the first chapter of this series.

Sapphire Pyro did a nice write-up of "Seirei Produce" on Hyper-Parfait. Check it out!

"Seirei Produce" Sneak Peek

Here's a small sample of some pages from the first chapter of "Seirei Produce."  Hopefully this will give you an idea of the artwork:

We're currently working on "Shinobigoto" and then after that, we'll move onto "Seirei Product."

"Seirei Produce" Update

I can't sleep 'cause my stomach's rumbly, so I did a quick read of the first chapter of "Seirei Produce."  Basically, 16-year old Momose Shina meets a couple of strange guys in a park.  One of them is dressed in a kimono and asks if she believes in God.  Shina thinks he's a proselytizing weirdo and tries to get away from the guy in the kimono.  A little later, Shina gets very tired to the point of barely being able to move and she looks so sick that strangers are taking pity on her.  She goes to rest on a bench.  While on the bench, a crow starts talking to her and tells her she stinks (rude little bugger!).  They exchange words (Shina ends up choking the crow -- LOL!!!) and the crow scratches her as it flies away.  A little later, the guy in the kimono and his attendant show up in front of Shina.  Shina notices that the guy in the kimono has the same scratch as hers.  Some stuff happens, he pulls out a fancy fan, and then declares that from now on Shina will become his.  This, of course, doesn't settle well with Shina.  Anyhow, that bastard crow comes back with his friends and attacks the guy in the kimono.  Every injury the kimono guy receives, Shina receives too.  Shina gets fired up with fighting spirit and helps the kimono guy use the fan to drive the crows away.  The guy then explains to Shina that he's a "Water Mirror" named is "Amane" and that she is his possession (or more like he's possessing her).  She tries to run away, but it seems that they are now are linked, and poor Shina has lost her freedom...

In the second chapter it looks like Amane goes to live with Shina in her ramshackled place and by the end of it we find out that Motoko is trying to become a God and Shina believes that if she can help him achieve that goal, then she can regain her freedom...and that bastard crow shows up again with a human companion...hmm...

My initial thoughts are that Shina is very spunky and likable and I like the interaction between her and the wannabe God, Amane.  Despite Amane's insistence that Shina is his possession, it seems that Shina is firmly in control of the situation and of him.  For the most part this is a comedy and I can see no opening for romance now, and, because this is a series in Asuka, there's a good chance there will be no romance, but rather a strong friendship between Shina and Amane.

I will definitely scanlate the first two chapters and then we'll see where things go from there.  As always, I welcome your comments :).
